Check your Socials! Top 7 missed opportunities

Is it time to Check your Socials? Are you guilty of any of these missed opportunities? We could all do with paying them a bit more attention…

Let’s check your socials…

  1. Incomplete Profile – your profile has 3 jobs. Tell people who you are, tell them how you can help them, and give them something to connect with. Keep it professional (especially on LinkedIn) but friendly, and show your personality. Keep it branded so that they can connect your profile with the rest of your online “stuff”. Keep it updated so it doesn’t get stale. And include a CTA so they know what to do next to work with you.
  2. Lack of Consistency – If you are not posting regularly, if your posts don’t always look like you with correct branding, or sound like you with on-brand messaging, this jars subconsciously with your audience and may put them off connecting with you.
  3. Irregular Posting – This feeds into the lack of consistency, but irregular posting also affects the performance of your posts as all of the algorithms like consistency. If your posts are not seen then they cannot contribute to engagement and growth on a platform.
  4. Ignoring Analytics – This can be a bit of a dirty word, but analytics don’t need to be overly complicated to give you insights to allow you to understand the content that will perform best with your audience so that you can post more of what does well and less of what doesn’t. This can save you a ton of work in creating content that seems like a good idea but is, in reality, not resonating with your audience at all!
  5. Ignoring Engagement – Keep social media social! It’s all about relationships and, whether online or offline, relationships are built on engagement, communication, and feeling important to the other person. Spend time responding to comments, messages, and mentions – and visit your social media buddies to share the love, too!
  6. Poor Quality Content – Low-quality content will harm your brand’s reputation, affecting your social media performance as well as potential sales that can be gained by effective content marketing. Give your followers what they are interested in, and what they value – and keep it looking professional.
  7. Lack of Strategy – It’s so easy to slip into ad hoc or even panic posting – often in an attempt to be consistent, ironically! Taking time to create a strategy will make the creation and posting of your online content so much calmer and easier! In addition, a strategy will make your social media posting so much more effective in contributing to your goal of Brand Awareness, Website Traffic, Lead Generation, or even Online Sales!

How are you doing? Are your socials working as hard as they can for you? Do you need some help to get them up to speed? We can help…
