Is your Digital Marketing a black hole of confusion?

When I say Digital Marketing does it create panic and stress? Are you unclear about what you should do, about how to do it or about whether it’s even working?

The Benefits – your WHY

How does a digital marketing strategy improve your life?
Clarity and strategy in your digital marketing bring you a feeling of peace and calm as well as better results.

Strategy avoids wasting time figuring out what to do and how to do it. Once you figure out your strategy you only need to work from it to create your content and check on your analytics to make sure that it is working for you.

Strategy gets better results as each piece of work is tied into your overall game plan. This means that everything you post online is working together towards your common goal.

An overall strategy means your core content is planned and under control. This leaves you time and space to be informal, casual and fun. Sharing this side of yourself allows you to connect with your customers in a more genuine way.

Top Tips

What are our Top Tips for a strong digital marketing strategy?

Keep it SIMPLE – Don’t try to do everything, it’s a common mistake and only gets in the way of you doing well in your digital marketing.

Pick a platform or two where you know your customers spend time.

Share content on those platforms that you know they will love.

TIME – Produce content in batches.

This saves time but also results in better content as you can spend time in a creative mindset and take full advantage to compile and plan your content.

Take the time to pull together your blog posts, emails, social posts and schedule at times when they are most likely to be read, shared and liked.

VALUE – Always always always focus on value for your clients.

On your website, to improve your SEO and get better search results, get you found.

On socials for shareability and engagement, which gets you seen and also feeds into your SEO.

On email for engagement and to reduce your unsubscribe rate.

What are the key factors for a digital marketing strategy? (The Techy Bit!)

Let’s get (a little!) techy.

What are the key factors for a digital marketing strategy?

Review to see where you at:

  • Website
  • Social Media
  • Email Marketing
  • SEO
  • Blog and Content
  • Overall

Decide what you want to do:

  • What’s your current goal?
  • What platforms do your customers use?
  • What platforms do you like to use? (no point in planning to use one that you hate, you just won’t do it!)
  • What kind of content?
  • What frequency – daily, weekly, monthly? Decide separately for each platform and start with what you know you can do, you can increase later but consistency is key.

Set up:

  • Set up your profiles and platforms – branding and ensure your relevant info is most prominent
  • Set up any tools you may need – scheduling (Hootsuite, Publer), email marketing (Mailchimp, Mailerlite), design (Canva) and add your branding kit, schedules, templates, etc.
  • Set up a place to catch content ideas and plan posts (whatever works, I use ClickUp or Notion but even pen and paper is a good start!)

Post and Report

  • Schedule and post your content
  • Check analytics and reports, and use the data to confirm that your strategy is correct.
